Some Republicans criticized Speaker Pelosi's need to fly on a large Air Force plane that can travel to California without refueling, but the White House defended her.
White House press secretary Tony Snow said it is sensible for the Pentagon to provide her with a plane because she has had problems getting a lift.

Pelosi's wondering why can't she ever get a simple lift without any complications.

Wow, the Air Force has planes that can fly DC to California without refueling?!
Right! bit disturbing we only have 3 such planes. But then again, in terms of military 'response'... a 'savior' plane need not come from 3,000 miles away. so long as there is a network of help in each region. i reckon a distress signal goes First to its home region, then neighboring regions, outwardly... You could explain it better in terms of a computer system... all the same, the number '3' is frighteningly small.
